Hella electronic actuators are fitted onto many of the modern diesel turbochargers.

Most commonly used on the Garrett range of turbos, but also on the BorgWarner KKK and Mitsubishi range, and more recently Bosch Mahle.

The environment these actuators have to operate is extreme; high temperatures, vibration, water, salt etc. all result in harsh operating circumstances, coupled with sticking turbocharger vane assemblies (VNT), blocked DPF filters etc. it’s no surprise these fail.
