This CHRA bolts directly in place of the standard unit. No modification is required. Simply unbolt the old CHRA and fit the our Hybrid CHRA
Pushing the limits in the K04 world, our latest CHRA really is something else. Being a direct fit to the standard Turbo Manifold and compressor housing, yet more powerful than ANYTHING seen in the standard OE housings, this really is the must have!
This CHRA is specced, built and balanced by Turbo Rebuild and has been tested to the limits.....and we haven’t broken it yet!!
Specifically designed for this application, the compressor wheel out performs every other wheel on the market today. Machined from solid Billet, This wheel is designed and produced using the Garrett GTX Performance design. The results are awesome. With 11 Giant, super thin blades, a super small hub together with extended tip technology, this wheel forces the maximum amount of air possible into your intercooler. To make things even more amazing..... It weighs less than the original, further improving spool times! This wheel flows not only more air than any other wheel on the market, but also spools faster* Tests have shown maximum boost is reached over 500rpm quicker than the standard OE wheel!!
With the latest materials and manufacturing processes, the bearings in our Hybrid CHRA are capable of not only extreme heat, but also huge boost. Our hardened thrust bearings have a thrust face over 20% larger than the standard OE Thrust Bearing. To handle the extra load, the bearing oil galleries are ported to ensure a good supply even at the highest boost levels.
Our thrust collars are made from hardened stainless steel and matched to the bearings, and like the thrust bearings are over 20% larger than the original. To keep weight to a minimum, we run tapered back thrust washers.
Our Hybrid CHRA comes with the ultimate in oil seal. Not only is the Turbine oil seal made from a new super strong material with outstanding temperature resilience it is also machined with a step gap ensuring a near “perfect seal”
Our lightened and balanced solid closed back Turbine shaft and wheel uses a solid base which supports each blade of the wheel. This allows us to use a thinner blade yet still have a stronger wheel structure than the original and weighing LESS, resulting in a faster spool. The added bonus of the full closed back wheel is excessive heat is deflected from the rear oil seal and surrounding area reducing heat soak which is common on the K04 units for cooking oil and resulting in carbon build up and smoking from the turbine seal. We only use a left hand tread turbine to ensure then compressor nut cannot loosen whilst in use, even running the highest boost levels. For those looking to push the BHP to the limits, we can supply with cut back blades, this increases Turbine flow allowing a higher shaft speed and more power (an increase in lag would be found with cut back blades) by reducing backpressure. This also results in lower Turbine temperatures, improving reliability at high boost of not only the Turbo itself, but also the Engine

As each unit is VSR trim balanced individually and manually, you can be assured that your CHRA is balanced to a level far more accurate than the OE part.
Our K04 CHRA’s have been tested on a customers track car having completed nearly 1000 track miles at 28psi Peak boost without issue. A strip and inspection found ZERO wear and ZERO damage!

**To achieve maximum BHP of this level, extensive engine work is required to ensure that not only is there adequate fuel, the charge temperatures are kept to safe levels and the engine can breath with the airflow supplied (porting, exhaust, air filter ,injectors etc)
ALSO INCLUDES FREE FITTING KIT INC OIL FEED COPPER WASHER, WATER COPPER WASHERS, OIL DRAIN GASKET AND OUR "FIRST FIRE" OIL PRIMING SYRINGE!!!
NOTE: This CHRA is NOT suitable on a standard engine without being remapped. The greater airflow produced by this CHRA will cause a standard engine to run lean which can result in engine failure. To obtain maximum power engine will need modification to fuel system (pump,injectors,ECU remap), Exhaust,Air Filter,Intercooler etc. Please consult your Tuner.
